Here's an interesting piece of news...China currently invests more money in Renewable Energy than any other country. The focus in the next 5 years is to build off of the manufacturing sector and into the installation arena.
The price of Solar PV is now competitive and getting more so, especially in China with an inexpensive PV installation environment. PV, Racking, Permitting, inverters, BOS, labor, etc. is less expensive in China than anywhere else in the world.
One has to ask... Why are we slipping behind in this the most important of all sectors namely "Energy" while the nation has unparalleled unemployment and no hope of a "Jobs Recovery" given the irrational partisan political climate in Washington.
Despite the national government stonewalling renewable energy, this sector has thousands of people, waking up each day going to well paying jobs in the solar business. Currently there are hundreds of thousands jobs available in this sector stretching out to the distant future, with no trained people to fill them.
The oil, gas, coal and nuclear sector has spent billions of dollars in the last twenty years hypnotizing the American public with flagrant misinformation into believing that
1.) Solar electricity is somehow inferior to the power that they sell.
2.) Solar probably will not work were ever you live.
3.) Solar is terribly expensive and will never be cost effective.
The US government i.e. Congress, the Senate and the Oval Office have received millions in campaign contributions, to insure the government stays onboard with the "Solar Myth". All the while the rest of the world is leaving us in the dust of antiquity, while they harness the power of the sun. We continue to pollute the earths atmosphere, land mass and oceans, for the profits of the few.
FYI Did you know that the reason that we are dependant on foreign oil is simply the oil subsidy that allows oil companies to import foreign oil tax free, while assessing income tax on domestic oil? Crazy huh?
