The year 2001 would bring about the creation of Outback Power. A company that would revolutionize the world of alternative power and renewable energy with battery based, and battery storage systems. It would ultimately provide hundreds of thousands of people living remotely, reliable power over the next decades to come. Forging a repution of excellence and proven stability. Since Outback Power’s inception, decades have now been dedicated to growth, inspiration, and innovation in energy storage and renewable energy, by engineering excellence and forward thinking. In the beginning, the smaller design of the newer and more efficient inverter/charger meant easier installations, and faster/cheaper shipping. However, this little inverter proved to be a work-horse with many of these inverters still working flawlessly in the field today. The maximum power point solar charge controllers first installed also have had the same success and reliability. The old MPPT charge controllers ushered in new advantages for solar electric installations. They eliminated the need for huge cables with their 150Volts max DC input voltage ranges, and boosted battery charging capacity by utilizing Maximum Power Point tracking. This allowed people to use whatever voltage solar panel was available to them without being constrained to simply small solar panels at lower voltages. With battery charging algorithyms being so highly programmable – new emerging technologies of batteries can and are being widely implemented. Outback has continued their innovations on to include highly effective grid tied, grid assist, and back-up solutions, newer battery technology, as well as bolstering their portfolio to include both DC and AC coupled systems for micro-grids, and almost endless add on capacity. They now power anything from eco-friendly resorts, hospitals, to full villages. The possibilities are now endless!
