Off Grid Inverters

The Solar Inverter

It is the inverter's job to convert DC electricity from your battery to 120- or 120/240-volts AC electricity to run all of your regular home appliances, all without making it necessary to start a generator. Additionally, the most common off-grid inverters can charge your batteries from a stand-by generator. An inverter with this feature is refired to as an off-grid inverter/charger.

Inverter chargers are generally available in two types Pure Sine Wave and Modified Sine Wave sometimes called Square Wave.

Off Grid Solar Inverters and Battery-Based Inverters

Pure Sine wave Inverters: At least the ones we sell, will supply better quality electricity than your local power company. You can run anything in your home safely without concern. Battery chargers in our pure sinewave inverter / chargers can sync to most but not all good quality generators. Call us 888-826-0939 for further explaination.

There is a whole world of cheap inverters that call themselves "True" Sine wave or "Pure" Sine wave inverters and sell for a few hundred bucks. Because the term can be used loosely...let the buyer beware!

Modified Sine inverters: A modified sine wave is not the same as power company electricity. Modified Sinewave inverters usually much cheaper to build and sell but they can ruin many appliances especially ones with transformers like your cell charger or laptop, copy machines, laser printers, and cordless tool rechargers. Never try to run a washing machine or a newer EnergyStar refrigerator on a modified sine inverter.
