GEL Cell Batteries
We started selling GEL Batteries into the Marine Battery market in the early 1980s. At that time no one knew about these batteries other than they were maintenance free sealed batteries… out of ignorance a number of these batteries got “cooked” by big amp chargers.
GEL batteries charge at a slower rate than their AGM Sealed counterparts so the charge voltage should be lower than if you’re charging a conventional battery. The 'GEL' is basically silica sand and sulfuric acid mud. We can really help you with what to expect and what you’ll need to do to keep this type of battery healthy
